Fine Restoration of Antique Typewriters

Vescovo Restauri by Alessio Vescovo is a highly specialized workshop operating in the restoration of mechanical typewriters of all brands, combining experience, passion, and dedication with the use of both traditional and modern techniques in perfect harmony to ensure a level of care and quality that is rare to find today. Every typewriter entrusted to me is returned to your hands not only beautifully restored but also fully functional, accompanied by a written testing certificate, a valuable document guaranteeing the work performed.

A wide range of processes and machinery are employed, depending on the initial condition of the typewriter and the final result desired. By browsing the pages of this website, you will discover different types of restoration work: from a complete restoration, which returns the typewriter to truly “as-new” mechanical and aesthetic condition, to a conservative restoration, undoubtedly more respectful of its history and lived experience. In this latter approach, your typewriter is brought back to full beauty and perfect working order while avoiding invasive methods such as re-chroming, re-nickel plating, or complete refinishing. Rusted parts are carefully brushed and treated with a transparent protective coating to prevent further oxidation. Paintwork is retouched where necessary, rather than entirely redone. In this way, the small marks left by the passage of time are preserved.
